Next year, the first new “pop-up” small Jesus Centre will launch in Kettering. While the size of the building will be smaller than the centres in Coventry and Northampton, for example, we won’t be small on the opportunities and services we offer.
Our hope and prayer is that the Jesus Centre will be a place where Jesus is at the centre, using us to bring hope and healing to a broken world. Jesus said: “I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me… Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:35-36, 40).
25 Dalkeith Place is what we hope to be our home. It is on the edge of the Town Centre in an area dominated by cafés, bars and restaurants. We have spent time in the past meeting people in this area. Plans are being drawn up for the conversion of the premises and a planning application will be made soon.
We shall be reliant on volunteers to run the Centre and the team have already started training.
Meanwhile we meet at Corn Market Hall, London Road, Kettering. Sunday 11am and 6pm.
